Inga is a multidisciplinary artist with a passion for music, writing, curation, and spirituality.
A first-generation Rwandan, Inga was raised in a small town in southwest Michigan. Her unique cultural background has deeply influenced her artistic expression and spiritual practices.
Inga’s musical journey began the moment she left her mother’s womb. According to her older sisters, even before she could form words, she was already singing along to rhythms, demonstrating an innate connection to music from an early age. Through middle and high school, she was a member of classical choirs and continued in college as a gospel choir section leader. Eventually, she made the bold decision to leave college and pursue her music career full-time.
She often describes herself as “the Soulquarians' long-lost daughter,” blending hip hop and soul into a sound that reflects her diverse influences and creative vision. She affectionately calls herself The Boom Baptist—a name inspired by her deep love for hip hop. She has brought her soulful sound to stages such as Untitled Chicago, The Newport Theater, and Navy Pier Beer Garden. She is currently working on her debut EP, Ingaludes, an intimate exploration of love, sensuality, healing, and empowerment.
Inga is also growing as a curator under the mentorship of Justin Dwaun Redding, founder and head curator of NAOMI Projects. In November 2024, she served as the exhibition assistant for The 11th Art of Blackness Exhibition, founded by Lashun Tines, and is currently the curatorial assistant for a ceramics exhibition Justin is curating in March 2025.
As a Hoodoo medium and rootworker, Inga is dedicated to ancestral connection and spiritual healing. She is also a Lucumí Ifá Aborisha and Omo Shango, continuing to deepen her practice under the guidance of her elders and godsiblings at Temple Orisha Ile Ifá.
In addition to her artistic and spiritual work, Inga is a dedicated childcare and birthworker, supporting the growth of young minds and nurturing new life. Inspired by her mother’s role in caring for mothers and infants in their community, Inga’s passion for birthwork was sparked at a young age. In 2023, she gained hands-on experience as a postpartum doula, confirming her calling in this field. She is currently enrolled in an online full-spectrum birthworker program with Indigo Mama Birth Home, expanding her knowledge and commitment to holistic care during the profound journey of childbirth.
At the heart of all her work—whether through music, curation, spirituality, or birthwork—is Inga’s unwavering devotion to healing, connection, and transformation.
